Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Refinery, has called on Nigerians to patronize made-in-Nigeria goods and services to grow the economy.
Alhaji Dangote made the statement during the occasion of a media tour of his refinery, led by former presidential spokesperson and foremost advocate of made-in-Nigeria goods, Reno Omokri.
Dangote emphasized the importance of supporting local industries to create jobs and stimulate economic growth.
“When you buy anything made in Nigeria, you are helping to create jobs,” he said.
“The only way for us to be a stronger nation is to patronize ourselves and buy made-in-Nigeria goods only.” He added.
The Dangote Refinery, located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos, has been making waves in the energy sector with its state-of-the-art facilities and commitment to producing high-quality products.
The refinery, which has a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is expected to meet Nigeria’s entire demand for petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel while still exporting nearly 50% of its products.
The Dangote Refinery is a world-class facility that has been designed to produce high-quality products that meet international standards.
The refinery’s products include Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Diesel, and Aviation Fuel, among others.
According to Omokri, the “Grow Naira Buy Naija” campaign, the refinery is “not up to date, but up to tomorrow” due to its advanced technology and high-quality products.
The Dangote Refinery is expected to create thousands of jobs for Nigerians, both directly and indirectly.
The refinery has already employed over 1,500 people, with a significant number of them being young Nigerians. The refinery’s management team is committed to training and developing the skills of its employees to ensure that they are equipped to operate and maintain the facility.
The refinery’s Vice President, Oil and Gas, Devakumar Edwin, revealed that the refinery has experienced 22 incidents of attempted sabotage since it began operations.
However, the refinery’s state-of-the-art hazards technology has successfully contained these incidents.
Edwin emphasized that the refinery is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its employees, facilities, and the environment.
The Dangote Refinery is expected to be a significant contributor to Nigeria’s economy, generating revenue for the government and creating jobs for Nigerians.
The refinery’s products are expected to meet international standards, and it is capable of meeting Nigeria’s entire demand for petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel while still exporting nearly 50% of its products.
