“Peter Obi Warns Fraudsters: Stop Using My Name for Online Scams”

Former presidential candidate and Labour Party leader, Peter Obi has issued a warning to individuals and groups using his name and image to promote online businesses and commercial ventures without his authorization.

In a statement posted on X on Thursday, titled “False use of my name for online promotions,” Obi expressed concern over the continued exploitation of his identity for personal and financial gain, despite earlier clarifications from his aides.

“I have once again been made aware of the activities of persons exploiting my identity for personal and financial gain. Such acts are fraudulent, deceptive, and aimed solely at exploiting public trust. I urge the public to disregard these false claims and exercise utmost caution when encountering any online content that purports to represent or involve me in business dealings.” He said.

Obi stated that he has no connection with the endorsements or promotional activities being carried out using his name and image.

He warned the public to be wary of online content or advertisements purporting to represent or involve him in any business dealings.

Obi assured that all legitimate information concerning him or his engagements would continue to be released through officially verified channels.
