Peace Restored in Bogoro After Violent Riot

Bauchi State Government has announced the restoration of peace and harmony in Bogoro and surrounding areas following a violent riot that tragically claimed one life and led to the loss of dozens of animals.

State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed revealed this development after spearheading a conciliation meeting between Fulani leaders and farmers in Bogoro.

Represented by Commissioner of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Isa Babayo Tilde, the Governor praised both parties for their efforts to quell the incident.

He announced that Government has vowed to support the bereaved family and those who lost livestock in the fiery incident.

The Governor lauded the swift response of the Bauchi State Police Command, which prevented the situation from spiraling into further chaos.

State Commissioner of Police, Sani Aliyu Omolori, disclosed that the police rescued about 249 cows and arrested one Ahmadu Mairiga as investigations continue.

Omolori urged residents to stay calm, abide by the law, and report any suspicious activities to the police.

Representatives of the Fulani community and the village head commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his prompt intervention and pledged to take proactive measures to sustain peace.

The team earlier visited the victim’s family to extend the state Government’s condolences.
