In a bid to deepen collaboration and enhance educational support for orphans and vulnerable children across the state, the Executive Chairperson of the Bauchi State Orphans and Vulnerable Children Agency (BASOVCA), Hajiya Yelwa Abubakar Balewa, led a high-powered delegation on a courtesy visit to the Bauchi State Ministry of Education.

The visiting delegation included board members such as Comrade Dauda Shu’aibu, Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Bauchi State Chapter; Alhaji Ahmed Kawu Aliyu, Director Admin and Human Resources (DAHR); and Mr. Adamu Nuhu, Head of Department, Education.

The team was warmly received by the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Aliyu Babayo Gamawa, and the Permanent Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Abdulhamid Jubril. Also present to welcome the delegation were directors from key departments, including Quality Assurance, Special Schools, and Examinations within the Ministry.

During the visit, discussions centered around fostering stronger inter-agency cooperation, improving access to quality education for vulnerable children, and ensuring sustained support in line with the state’s inclusive educational agenda.

Hajiya Yelwa Abubakar Balewa expressed gratitude for the continued collaboration with the Ministry and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in addressing the educational and welfare needs of disadvantaged children in the state.

In response, the Honourable Commissioner commended BASOVCA’s ongoing efforts and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to partnering with relevant stakeholders to achieve sustainable educational development in Bauchi State.

The visit marked another milestone in the state’s efforts to strengthen institutional synergy and build an inclusive educational system that leaves no child behind.
