The 2025 Annual Conference of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), also known as the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW), commenced today, May 20, 2025, at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. The event has drawn a diverse assembly of public relations professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond.
The theme of this year’s conference is:
“Solid Minerals: A Solid Path to Nigeria’s Sustainable Economic Recovery – The Challenge for Public Relations.” This theme underscores the pivotal role of strategic communication in harnessing Nigeria’s solid mineral resources to drive sustainable economic growth. It emphasizes the necessity for public relations practitioners to effectively communicate the potential and opportunities within the solid minerals sector.
Highlights from the Opening Ceremony include keynote addresses delivered by esteemed experts in the field, focusing on the integration of public relations strategies in promoting the solid minerals sector , bridging the gap between traditional institutions and the public relations profession, fostering improved relationship management , and educating young public relations practitioners and students, emphasizing the future of the profession as attendees will gain insights into the latest trends and strategies in public relations, enhancing their skills and knowledge for partnerships between public relations professionals, government agencies, and private sector stakeholders to promote national development.
The conference will continue until May 24, 2025, featuring masterclasses, panel discussions, industry tours, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections .
Bauchi state State is being represented at the event by more than 30 delegates , including Two fellows of the Association , Mr Andy Iheme and Malam Kabiru Garba , Council member , Malam Kabir Ali Kobi , Special Adviser Media to the Bauchi Governor,comrade Mukhtar Gidado, Police Public Relations Officer Bauchi State Command CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil , NIPR State officials and members of the Association too numerous to mention.
